Muay Thai Kick Pads are a larger version of focus mitts designed with the thai roundhouse kick in mind alongside the range of knee and elbow strikes used by the Muay Thai Fighter. The best Thai pads are made of 100% cowhide leather and usually made in Thailand  (although there are exceptions to this notably Revgear Thai pads) and maybe of the straight or curved thai pad variety, the other variation in thai pads is the type of fastening with a choice between velcro and buckle straps. When choosing your muay thai pads think about the size and weight you want aswell as the style of pad. An expert Thai coach will often use a combination of Thai pads, Thai belly protectors and sometimes focus mitt/Thai pads for different drills.

A quality set of Muay Thai Pads will last for many years of continued use therefore chosing cheap thai pads will almost invariably turn out to be a false economy with a good set such as Fairtex Curved Thai pads or Revgear Curved Thai Pads expecting to last at least 5 years.
