Fairtex have regularly been voted the leading brand for mma gloves by magazines, polls and fighters alike. They have a strong argument to say they are still wearing this crown. Their consistent product development, design and build quality and leave them a class apart from many other leading brands. The Fairtex FGV 17 is the pick of the bunch for us. Super durable and a lasting quality feel, though they do require a bit of time to break them in before heading into a competition.

A good contender for the best emerging brand is Revgear. The value for money is fantastic and their Gel gloves have been very well received and reviewed by top fighters. The 4oz Challenger is exceptional and a perfect choice if you have a fight looming as they won’t need breaking in.

Hayabusa and Rival are fan favourites as they make many quality products and offer some seriously cool designs. There are many others worth noting but remember the best boxing gloves for any martial arts are made of real leather with good attention to detail, such as the finger cuffs and wrist straps. Many of the so-called premium ‘best brands’ make big claims but fail to deliver on quality and performance.
