MMA Gloves

MMA Gloves

There are two basic varieties - competition and sparring gloves. MMA fighters use fingerless boxing gloves to allow a full range of grips and holds. The MMA glove size is much smaller and lighter than equivalent boxing gloves, designed primarily to protect the hand during striking rather than to lower the impact of the blow on your opponent. We do a full range of gloves including Muay Thai!

The mixed martial arts competition gloves are the smallest at just 4oz and usually available in a standard format, compared to the larger 6oz version for sparring which come in a variety of designs.

The best MMA gloves are made from quality cowhide leather and refine areas such as the thumb and finger cuffs, wrist straps and padding over the knuckles. Fairtex gloves are a firm favourite with UK fighters. Emerging MMA brands such as Revgear, Hayabusa and Blitz all offer solid quality and value to the range.

WHICH ARE THE BEST MMA GLOVES?

Our Reviews and Recommendations

Fairtex have regularly been voted the leading brand for mma gloves by magazines, polls and fighters alike. They have a strong argument to say they are still wearing this crown. Their consistent product development, design and build quality and leave them a class apart from many other leading brands. The Fairtex FGV 17 is the pick of the bunch for us. Super durable and a lasting quality feel, though they do require a bit of time to break them in before heading into a competition.

A good contender for the best emerging brand is Revgear. The value for money is fantastic and their Gel gloves have been very well received and reviewed by top fighters. The 4oz Challenger is exceptional and a perfect choice if you have a fight looming as they won’t need breaking in.

Hayabusa and Rival are fan favourites as they make many quality products and offer some seriously cool designs. There are many others worth noting but remember the best boxing gloves for any martial arts are made of real leather with good attention to detail, such as the finger cuffs and wrist straps. Many of the so-called premium ‘best brands’ make big claims but fail to deliver on quality and performance. All our mixed martial arts products are selected based on quality, longevity and customer feedback. If you want a recommendation for your budget simply give us a call and we’d be happy to help.

Plenty Of Punch On A Budget

Avoid cheap MMA gloves! We stock quality Blitz Sport and Revgear gloves from under £25 here at Fight Store – they offer fantastic value on a budget and will outlast and out-perform cheap alternatives. Your gloves are designed to withstand high impact blows whilst protecting your knuckles, hands and wrists - not to mention your opponents face! Buying cheap products will land you with a sub-quality product, using synthetic construction and very little product development.
